2015-08 FIFA have released initial statistics in relation to the 2015 FIFA Women’s WorldCup in Canada. In addition to attendance, TV and digital stats first competition data has been released about the tournament held on football turf.

Some facts: In comparison to 2011 (played on natural grass) the number of goals increased in 2015 (2.8 goals per game vs 2.7 in 2011), the average number of 1-on-1 tackles (duels) increased from 155 in 2011 to 173 in 2015 and the number of short passes was higher with 374 in 2015 compared to 332 in 2011.  Also the number of injuries per match reduced from 2.3 per match in 2011 to 2.1 in 2015.
